Another Leather Cleaning Thread

Recently got an Alfa 166 with a light grayish creamish leather interior. I'm looking for a cleaner that will get it really really clean. Particularly the drivers seat which is darker in appearance to the others due to dye transfer from clothes I think. The leather on the door cards is also starting to crack a small bit, is there any products that will minimize the spreading cracks or is it a lost cause?

I'm looking for a brush/cleaner that will restore the seats as close as possible to original and get all the seats the same colour again and also a product that will help to slow the cracking of the leather on the door cards.

    Thanks.

    Nobody have anything on this?

From reading around Dr. Leather looks to be the favorite for cleaning.

Anyone have any recommendations for treating the cracking?

Dr. Leather liquid cleaner and a brush with bristles stiff enough to work it in, but that wont damage the leather...a nail brush is usually ideal.

As for treating the cracks - your's sounds like its bad; anything that you can feel (indentation) with your finger as you rub over it, will need filling. Probably best to contact a company like Furniture Clinic (site sponsors on DW)

Probably make it sound worse than it is. it can be seen but not felt at all as far as I've seen. I'm happy with how it is now, just want to do my best to stop it getting worse.

I had a look at the Furniture Clinic website and I think this might be what I want:)

Does anyone have any experience of theses kits? I'm a bit worries about which colour to select…

Thanks for your help Curran :)

I'd shoot them a quick email, with the make, model and colour of the leather and they should be able to tell you what to choose. A picture of the leather in good natural light, will help too! ;)

Great! I'll try find out what the colour of the leather is called and I'll contact them :) Not sure how helpful a picture will be to them because it isn't the colour it is supposed to be at the moment due to dirt!
