Engine losing some power , when I say losing power its like its spluttering power when I'm flooring it. It doesn't happen all the time but recently its been happening more often. Just wondering does anyone recognise these symptoms.
Was chatting to a mate and he says it sounds like an egr problem but tbh he's just guessing because he's like me, knows jack sh1t about cars

On the 1.8T it could be anything from coilpacks to a boost leak to a vacuum leak, to know for sure it would be wise to get it at least scanned and/or looked at by some with good knowledge of these lumps.

When was the last time the spark plugs were changed ?

    Where are you based ?

In the west. Think plugs where done 2 year ago when putting gasket in.

What mileage have you done in that time ?

Just average, under 10k a year.

One thing I forgot to mention, it was near impossible to get same head for this car so we put in a head from an Audi a6 1.8t petrol. Everything was the same, all bolts fitted same place etc.. But behind the egr valve in the a4 head thwre was a hole running into the head but it didn't have it a6 head. The mechanic fitting the head put a camera down it and it wasn't connected to anything, just a hole behind the egr. I had a choice of not fitting the head or wait about for another one, I chose to fit the head . maybe it might have somethingg to do with this.
