AXA classic car breakdown recovery

My 1967 car "failed to proceed" in southern France on September 13th. AXA collected the car and stored in a modern secure facility in Saint-Etienne. I was on the return leg of my trip. It was a Saturday, and no mechanic was available to check the car until Monday 15th. AXA said that I could travel home if I wished and that they would fly me back out to collect the car if it was repaired, or ship it to me otherwise. As it turned out the car was shipped back to Dublin. It was undamaged, and nothing was missing.

All of this was included in my AXA classic car policy --- 365 days a year coverage. AA 5 Star insurance (same cover as far as I can see) would have been €188 for two weeks.

Credit where credit is due. Thanks AXA!

I'm not connected with AXA in any way apart from being insured with them.
