NCT on an import

I have imported a car from the UK and the NCT is booked for the midterm break at the end of October. My problem is I just got a medical appointment for the same day and I cant attend both. Could I get someone else to present my car at the NCT?

I know I can't sell it for a year after import but is there any limitation on other people driving my car? I think there might be but cant find any information and I don't want it to fail automatically.

Yeah anyone can as long as they have ID (theirs)

The only driving restriction would be insurance

I assume car is already registered in Ireland and has valid Irish number plate and tax.
By saying that you can't sell it for a year, I also assume you moved your residency from UK and brought this car with you - so avoided paying VRT on it.

    Is that right?

Answer to your question is - yes - anyone can present your car for NCT test, assuming they have their own driving licence or passport with them, and car VRC (logbook).

Yes to all of the above.
Thanks for your responses. Someone mentioned that only I could drive the car for the first year but I cant find any reference to that rule. It sounds like the person who said this probably didn't have a clue what they were on about.
