Help with hotel booking

    A family member booked a hotel through expedia. She never got a confirmation email. She wants to cancel, but expedia have no record of the booking. She rang the hotel and they said it is booked (With expedia) and they can't cancel, only expedia can. Expedia is saying there is no booking and the hotel is saying there is.

    Ask the hotel for the Expedia booking ref and then give that to Expedia.

    The contract is with expedia so I would recommend getting in writing that no booking exists from expedia as to cover herself if and when it miraculously appears.

    She should ask Expedia to confirm by email that there is no booking and then ask her bank to do a chargeback of the booking fee.

    Email probably entered slightly incorrectly on expedia, hence the confirmation email did not arrive.

    As above- get the reference number fro the hotel and contact expedia.
