I am getting a Black Epiphone Les paul Standard for Chirstmas and i would like to know could you get the body painted to a diffferent colour? (I would prefer Sunburst!)

It is in my house but in the unopened box.

Does anyone know where this can be done and how much it would cost?

its not really worth it to be honest.... oh and, errr, why didn't you just buy/ask (for) one in sunburst?

Well, the guitar shop I got it from is a small one, so he had to order the guitar. I was getting sunburst, but someone else got there before me.

I already have a black guitar, so I'd prefer a change.

which shop was it? and if you ordered it then why the **** did they give it to someone else

if you want it that much and it is a new guitar.. then it quite possibly might end up savin you some dolla if you sell the one you have at a slight discount and buy one in sunburst.. or just bring it back to the shop and ask to replace it with one in sunburst.. if the box isn't even opened yet then this shouldn't be a problem.... however, i'm not sure with epi's but sometimes gettin a guitar in sunburst costs a little extra than any basic colour such as black.. i know this is the case with the likes of a u.s strat... but it might not apply to an epi...

Yes, it's possible. Bring your guitar and about €3-400 to your local luthier and he'll sort you out. But, why spend almost the same as the guitar cost to get it resprayed? TBH, return it as suggested, cover it in stickers or learn to like black even more!

Not really much fùcking point getting a guitar resprayed at the same value as its original cost. Get it in sunburst when they have a sunburst one in. Waiting for what you want is always worth it in the end.

Besides, if it's a black Epiphone the wood probably wouldn't exactly be as easy on the eye as a factory painted sunburst, they generally keep the better visual specimens of wood for the see through paint jobs.
