Buying Used 2012 Import from Irish dealer: Advice!

Hi,
We're thinking of buying a used 2012 import from an Irish dealer, we really like the car, it's a decent price, and only 12,500 miles. I couldn't believe the mileage so I checked the service history in the glove compartment when doing the test drive. The car was serviced by an authorised English garage pre - delivery in May 2012 and then it was serviced by the authorised Irish dealer in August 2013 at 11,800 miles. 14 months later it's still with the irish dealer and only 700 miles extra done.
Both of these dealers are authorised to deal with the car involved.
What I want to know is: does the above sound too good to be true? Why would such a good car at an excellent price be lying around for a year?

Any advice much appreciated

Bizarre as they are not a difficult car to sell, I'd be asking why it was unsold for 14 months. I'd definitely be doing a motor history check on it, I'd also get the old UK reg and do a UK history check on it.

Something's up there, that's a saleable car. If they can sell it at a good price today, it was too cheap 14 months ago.
