as the title suggests, what would be the going rate for renting out a pen or 2 in a shed for the winter?
we have 2-3 spare this winter and had a few people enquire about taking them.
never done it before so dont have a clue what to ask for it.

How would that work if you had your own cattle in the same shed ??

If we transfer his cattle into our herd? I thought that is how it works anyway?
I know nothing about how it would work, just looking for some advice

Sounds complicated to me. Even if I was looking for winter accommodation I wouldn't like sharing a shed with other cattle.

Other than TB and BVD wouldn't there be a host of airborn respiratory stuff to be worried about...
Could you rent a whole shed and keep them separate?

Agree with earlier posts, disease / bio security major concern for me, no money would pay me to share a shed.
If one of his animals gets something serious, will you be to blame, your animals, your feeding, your ventilation, your water supply.
I wouldn't do it. a lot of downside if something goes wrong imo.
Let him have the full shed, you feed, but all other matters like herd health, he is fully responaible. Don't forget to get money for water/deposit for damages-hot topic this weather !!!!

    thanks for the opinions,
decided not to go with it. the money doesn't outweigh the possible health problems.
