    Hi everyone,

I have an interview tomorrow in my local Dunnes. I am quite nervous as it is my first interview.

Has anyone any idea what kind of questions I should have prepared? Or any general interview tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance :)

Hey there, I know this thread is almost a year old but did you get the job in the end? Also how did you apply to Dunnes, did you just go up to the customer service desk and hand in your CV? I'm thinking of applying for a job there but I never see Dunnes advertising vacancies online :/

Hiya, it's no problem at all. Yes I got the job, I was hired as christmas staff and was offered a permanent position a few months ago. That's right, just hand your cv in to customer services and they should tell you if they are hiring at the moment and if not your cv will be put on file until they are looking for new staff.

Hope that helps, if you have anymore questions ask away :)

Its while since i worked there now but in regards to experience, id say no it is not neccesary, but make it sound like you have as much as can, personality traits, could even make stuff up about stuff you have done in school if your of that age, (i made a set of stairs for lcert, told em that, seemed to work).

also it cant hurt to drop into the store check for those pictures they have on the wall and then address your cv + cover letter to a senior manager. or if they dont have them just search out that online. best of luck, if ya get it let us know what sort of contract they offer now.

Thanks for the reply, I'm thinking of handing in my CV tomorrow. :)

Does Dunnes Stores normally hire new staff during midsummer? I know they take in a lot of staff for the Christmas period, I'm just gauging my chances of getting hired if I drop in a CV tomorrow.

not sure tbh. Whether it is or not you could get lucky as a lot does happen over the summer months in terms of new stock, sales, layout changes to accompany new styles etc...dont be thinkin to much about it, hand it in and see what happens. Really do try put a name on it though as this means someone of importance will more likely see it and also that youve takin the time to look up things about the store. + a good cover letter and then you done the best ya can.
