    Hi,

Not a local so would appreciate any info on how to get from Cork city to Rathard, Aherla. I am actually travelling by train from Liimerick Junction. Does anyone know how to get from near kent station to Aherla and how long it would take. I am hoping to get there for 9.

Thank you to anyone who posts

you may have to rethink your plans to be there for 9 as the first train into cork from Limerick Junction does not get in until 09:35

The national journey planner suggested the 233 but when i looked up the timetable the 233 seems to have been withdrawn

Hopefully somebody with better local knowledge may be able to help you there.

    Thanks flyingsnail for your reply.

I am now hoping to get a lift but only as far as city centre. It just seems like the only option is to get the bus to Macroom first and then get another bus from there. This seems to take an age at that hour in the morning - 2 hours.

I was just is there was a quicker way as a taxi would cost over 20 euros.

you could get the bus to Ballincollig, get off at the terminus in EMC and get a cab from there, shouldnt be too expensive. About 12 quid at most i think for the cab.

Only a couple of trips on the 233 were withdrawn. Read that notice again.

The route is very much alive.

    The 233 timetable is here:

Otherwise there is the 220 (from Grand Parade):

Both operate to Ballincollig from where you could get a taxi.
