Double slabbed?

I'm fitting 100mm insulated slabs on the exterior walls on my house. There are 2 walls, built more recently, that already have 32mm cosy board fixed. I would like to bring these up to a modern standard, and was thinking of screwing a further 50mm board on top of the existing slabs to bring the aggregate up to standard - any drawback to this approach?

    What fixings are you using?

Contacted one of the suppliers, they said to keep the existing ones in place and fix 80 mm board on top with mushrooms...

Have the previous boards been skimmed. If they have you could be inviting problems.
