Considering Master's Abroad ... Need Help

    Hey all,

I'm a 3rd year electronic and computer engineer who's currently studying in TCD. In order to become a chartered engineer, I need to have a master's within the field of engineering so that I can be eligible to work. At least according to Engineers Ireland anyway. So this has got me thinking, TCD offers a 1 year masters from which one gets an MAI degree with one year of study. But the fact it's half of the length of a standard master's degree from anywhere else makes me wonder what goes into it (or more so, what's been taken out) in comparison to master's from other universities. I'd also like to get out of TCD and see a new university; 4 years here is a long time :)

I have been contemplating a couple of things:
    1) Firstly, and subsequently at the top of my list would be RWTH Aachen for a Master's in "Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Computer Engineering M.Sc." through English with choice for specialisation later on. I also speak very good German, so I would love to move to Germany, and have wanted to for years. Even when filling in my CAO I heavily contemplated moving to Germany for engineering. Fees in Germany are very good too from what I'm told.

    2) Secondly would be UCL in London or UCD in Dublin. I know that fees in the UK are very steep at the best of times, but what would the quality of the Master's be from this? Better than Germany?

    3) What's Sweden like in terms of engineering? I know computer science is great there, but I haven't seen any joint programmes of electronic engineering and computer science.

    4) How much better would it look to have a degree from TCD and a Master's from abroad such as the UK/Germany/Sweden? Would it impact better on future employment rather than the others in my course who might do the 5 year course inclusive in TCD?

Later in life I'm considering an MBA, but closer to finishing a Master's I would heavily consider moving to Canada for employment.
