Professional exams by distance learning?

I'm looking at a job as an Accounts Assistant but it doesn't really have scope to qualify as a fully fledged Accountant, which is something I Want to do. So I was wondering how ese can be done by distance learning whilst working? Not set on any particular body but I would be most inclined to go for CAI or ACCA.

I did the CPA by distance learning,while working. Most important thing to remember is to study from the exam papers. If you can do them you will pass the exams.
