Hello all, my immune system is failing me at the moment due to stress etc! Have a nasty cold sore, my bf has suggested treating me to a facial and massage at the weekend to help me relax but I'm worried about booking anything with a cold sore is this a big no no? Thanks for any advice

When you ring up to book just say it to them . I would guess that they would probably just avoid the area where there is a cold sore. You can get little clear patches in the chemist for coldsores, maybe you could use one of those to cover the coldsore while you get the facial.

Cold sores are highly contagious and active under the skin for a large area than the blister indicates. Salons are unlikely to be permitted to give you a facial, insurance might be an issue. Doesn't mean you can't have a massage, head massage, manicure, pedicure...so many other lovely relaxing treatments though

rub a bit of strong manuka honey on the cold sore over the next few days 4/5 times a day and you'll see a difference

Lysine for the cold sore it absolutely brilliant you can get it holland and Barrett

I would get cold sores quite regular and even when I used Zovirax it would just keep reappearing.
The Lysine worked within 2 - 3 days and never reappeared

It would be wrong to book in a facial with an active cold sore on your face. The herpes virus is highly contagious.

OP, do not touch it. Do not pick it. Do not burst it. It is HIGHLY contagious!

I used Choraphor on a cold sore a few year ago. I used to get them at least once a year. It stung the crap out of me, but I never got another cold sore again. It needs to be used at the weeping stage (when the blisters start to ooze) to be most effective.

Good luck. And no kissing the bf

It's a no no I'm afraid it's a contraindication so no honourable salon will carry out the treatment.
