You could do it online with agfood.ie.

What's that, order a new register? 'cos you can't record the remedies on agfood.ie. It fcuking baffles me in this day and age that I can't record animal remedies on agfood. There is an 'oh so useful' spreadsheet buried in the departments website if you want to store them electronicly.

Yep, heard of him alright. Was told he wouldn't hit a lake if he was in a boat on the middle of it with a sawn off shotgun. :)

I take it you're not part of QA?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 968 ✭✭✭Count Mondego

Can this not be done online through agfood.ie? You log in and add the records. Haven't done it but will check it out.

    Yes I am
What is wrong with a spread sheet?
No rules saying you have to use anything as long as you have your 5 pieces of info

Always assumed it had to be in the blue book.

The new blue books don't have the remidies pages in them. It's a separate book now

No it can't. Apparently there is no real need for increased tracaibilty on what enters the food chain, to more accurately monitor the use of antibiotics or develop strategies against anthelmintic resistance at a national level. It makes much more sense to scribble some crap in a blue book only to glanced at by some jobsworth Bord Bia inspector every year and a half or a very, very rare department visit.

It terms of what is officially required, the bord bia book is fine as long as you keep the records for 5 years.

We are in the Bord Bia QA, and yes, we have been told it is ok to use their book for the remedies. This will cover you if you have a Dept inspection as well.

I just use a spreadsheet I made myself. There are no rules on what you use only copy the template headings on the department website. They are very particular on that part.

He'd manage to sink the boat all the same.
