That sticky regarding Photographic Mentors is there a couple of years now. Lots have expressed interest both as Mentors and being mentored.

Any feedback from those who have hooked up? Be interested to know if anyone is getting value out of it?

tbh, i think nothing came of it....
it'd probably be a good idea to remove the thread if no one is interested in following through. or maybe this thread will re-ignite interest?

Plenty expressed interest, so maybe some have followed through and not publicized it. It's a great idea for sure.

Well, as that thread is closed it's kinda difficult to post if anything happened or to keep it alive.
I understand why it was closed - based on the way to connect mentor and learner via thanks, but maybe it'd work better if people could chat in it - and you close it again if that doesn't work. Or start a new one seeing that one a quite old and some of the people not around here anymore.

From time to time I've wondered if a kind of experience exchange would help people explore areas of photography they haven't tried before or think doesn't interest them.

My idea is that two people get together, they need to work in different areas say somebody who primarily does landscape and somebody who primarily does studio, they then spend sometime, morning/afternoon/day with each other exploring how each other works.

I've hesitated suggesting it because, I'm not sure I could identify what area I primarily work in, so I'm not sure I could offer anything. Maybe others have more defined areas and so I mention in case it might be something that would work for some people.
