    Hi

Just landed in Sydney and I'm looking a sports team to join.
GAA season is over so was hoping for a soccer team to join. Possibility a club with a few adult teams with varying standards.

    Cheers

The league I play in doesn't start again until Feb, not sure about others.

Football - all codes - is basically a winter game in Australia. The professional soccer league is played over the summer because it's a comparatively late arrival on the scene, and they thought there would be less competition for support and for television coverage if they played in what was the off-season for the dominant codes. But all the amateur soccer leagues are played over the winter and, at amateur level, summer is the off-season.

Cricket is the universal summer game. You're in Australia now, mate.

Drop me a PM with your email address and I will send you on some info about our club, the levels and training etc.

Although pre-season does not kick off until mid Jan we get together in December to kick a ball around and generally have something to do until we get back into it after Christmas. From there it is Training twice a week with games on Saturday afternoons at 1pm & 3pm (Reserve Grade & First Grade).
