I voted for MEEM but only because that's how I pronounce it. I think it's wrong but MEME sounds stupid, not to mention selfish

How does anyone know how it's pronounced?
    Where would you hear it?

You could listen to Richard Dawkins who invested the word in his book The Selfish Gene.

It seems Dawkins isn't able to spell/pronounce his own word.

You could ignore your prejudices for a moment and appreciate just how powerful the concept of memes are and in doing so, achieve an immediate upgrade to your ability to understand the world and human civilisation.

Or you could remain closed minded and mentally impoverished. It's up to you.

Don't hate. God created Richard Dawkins and thus God created the word. Go in peace my child.

Having done French in school, I relate it to the word meme with the circumflex above the first e, which is pronounced mem. So I have to correct myself every time I say it in my head. Like I have to with pilates, it's not pile-ates.
