    Don't have particular opinion either way. The article confirms other news stories from recent years about car makers worrying about who in the western world will be the next generation of car buyers.

    BMW in particular has been trying to forecast future changes in "mobility" across different parts of the world - the company knows that the migration of large masses of people to about 20 major cities around the world and the declining interest in car ownership present both threats and opportunities for car makers.

    The i3 was conceived to address those concerns and the company is getting involved in shared car ownership schemes in different parts of the world.
