There were expectations of some extra measures to encourage take up. Nothing?

I think further monetary measures are not needed - EVs are now cheaper to buy than equivalent ICE, so definitely that is no longer an issues.
Free parking and bus lane access would be more useful.

Investment in hydrogen infrastructure would have been welcome.

Extension of the rebate to 2016 not enough then?

Investment in hydrogen infrastructure would have been welcome.

Hydrogen is a pipe dream, longer range electrics will be a reality long before hydrogen, and so the need for hydrogen will not be, perhaps a future could be seen in HGV use.

That would cost billions and a lot more than installing fast chargers.

Not to mention the gross inefficiency in the production of hydrogen. That energy is much more efficiently spend on charging batteries.

The expense of fuel cells still with no sign of getting affordable, and they also have a finite life like batteries. Operation in the cold, is still an issue.

In just 2017/18 120-200 mile range electrics will be much more affordable and satisfy most peoples needs with the odd fast charge. For those who still say "but my diesel can go 500 miles bla bla" then they can continue to use their ice.
