So i just bought my first car fairly cheap off a family member and plan to get insured soon to practice for the driving test, the only problem is the car (01 1.4 3 door focus) has a full body kit and a very loud exhaust, I'm wondering would this leas to the tester being bias?

I would just borrow your instructors car for the driving test - the tester is just going to think your an out and out lad for turning up to your driving test in a skangermobile..

I was thinking the same, only the instructors car is a 2litre diesel whereas I'd be doing most of my practice driving in a 1.4 petrol

I wouldn't be worried. So long as the car is legal you will be fine. Do it in the car you are most comfortable would be my advice.

Is the loud exhaust road legal?
Is it loud enough that the tester might consider it not to be?
If they have any suspicion the car is not road legal to drive then the test will be cancelled on the spot.

As for the instructor's car, I assume you have been driving it up to now?
How does it feel? Are you able to handle it reasonably well?

I'm not big into cars I just bought it because it was cheap and had nct recently passed and it wasn't too big, I was assuming if it passed NCT then everything is legal on it.

I've changed instructor due to moving for a course I'm doing so I've only had one lesson in it and I have only 3 left to doso i'm not sure I can get used to it in the 3 hours of driving it compared to driving my own car everyday

Drive your own in that case. As I said, use the car you're most comfortable in. The body kit etc wont make a difference, so long as it passed the NCT with all the mods.

As long as it's road legal then they shouldn't be bias. Just show that you're a good, safe and considerate driver and you should be fine. Best of luck
