I am currently with the network three and i am being charged for using emojies on my text messages, three have advised me that this is a problem with my phone but when i call into the shop there is nothing they can do and just advise me to use whatsapp or viber, this is not good enough and at the end of the day three are profiting from this. I would like to know if anyone is experiencing this problem, i currently have a samsung s4

Hi Sandra you're probably better off posting on the 3 forum, they have official 3 agents who will help you.

What is listed on your bill?
      - SMS [\list]
      - MMS [\list] It is possible I would have thought for some emoticons NOT to converted into text characters(including colons, comma, etc) and therefore perhaps sent as an MMS as the characters can't be created in an SMS message. I think you perhaps better off sending an IM via Hangouts/Viber/Skype/Line or Whatsapp.

I had same issue with Samsung S4, the stock text message app will convert emoji to an MMS. I solved this by changing the messaging app. I use Textra this allows emoji to be sent as a normal text and to Iphone recipients too.
