Can anyone tell me is there such a thing as a register of people who have obtained legal/judicial separation in Ireland?

    Thanks.

No, but court offices keep records of court orders, to include orders for judicial separation/divorce. It's not possible for members of the general public to inspect these family law orders.

Interesting. Your marriage is publicly recorded, but your divorce isn't.

Perhaps there should be a move away from AB & CB type annotations for family law case decisions and for simple GRO registration certs issued along the lines of births marriages & deaths.

How does a divorced person prove to the CRO that they can remarry?

I presume that they hand in a redacted copy of the divorce decree from the relevant court office.

So basically if someone tells you they're legally separated there's no way of you finding out if they're pulling your leg or not???

I didn't know that but I'm surprised that they ask for the unredacted order.

It's hardly any of their business what orders were made, apart from the one dissolving the marriage.

The court offices will provide redacted copy orders.
