I remember many late nights at LFO gigs, always something special. His work with Bjork was also top class.

Great tunes and good times RIP mark.

RIP Mark Bell, it was a pleasure to catch LFO live at Life festival this year and the subsequent Bjork tours at the Picnic in 2013 and 2007, will sadly be missed.

ONE OF THE ALL TIME CLASSICS

i remember hearing it for the first time in Sides DC in 1990 and it completely blew me away and still does today 24 years later, bleep techno of the highest quality, a true visionary,

    RIP MARK BELL.

A big loss to electronic music. RIP

The strange thing is when my alarm went off yesterday morning and I tried to turn it off while half asleep I somehow ended up accidently turning on the LFO song Premacy, the first song off their Sheath album.

I just got really confused and wondered how that happened and then decided it would be a gorgeous song to wake up to every morning so I changed my alarm song to that there and then and went back to sleep to snooze.

It was only a few hours later that I heard he had died. Mad coincidence.

This tune is a world away from the typical LFO / solo output, but it's the first tune I threw on when I read that he had died.

    Ethereal stuff:

Yeah pretty shocked to hear this on Monday. Naturally I had to play LFO 'Frequencies' non-stop on Tuesday - such a classic album. One that always jumps to mind for me when I think of Mark Bell is his Speedjack project and in particular 'Storm'... it featured on a Justin Robertson mix I had around '95 and it took a while to finally get an ID. Anyway... we are obviously going to see more legends pass as the years push on!

RIP Mark Bell - you certainly did make a massive contribution to electronic music.
