Hi guys need some advice please, my tax expiry is 10-14, I have my full driving test on the 31st Oct. Would the tax still be in date or would it be best to renew? Reason I'm asking is I go abroad on the 1st Nov for 3 weeks so the car will be off road. Thanks

Youll be ok! You still have a valid tax disc on the 31st! Best of luck with the test!

Just remember to declaire that the car will be off the road before you go otherwise you will be charged the 3 weeks when you go to tax it again.

You can only pay monthly and it's always from the start of the month. If the OP is only going away for 3 weeks they won't get any benefit from declaring it off the road, unless they keep it off till the 1st Nov and then tax it.

Look closely at your disc and you'll see it specifies an exact date in the month that it expires. In large font is the month and date, but in smaller print states the actual date in the month. That exact date could be checked by the testing-instructor also if they wished.

    Hope that helps,

Don't think so. Its till the end of the month. Insurance and NCT have full to the day dates.
