Tá brón oram le haigh on Gaeilge uafásach. :)

Bhí me ag léamh "Subh Milis" anseo. Ag an deireadh, deir sé "Agus an laimh beag ar iarradh". Duirt an ceann bearla ar on leathanach sin go bhfuil sé sin "And the little hand would be gone" as bearla ach creidim go bhfuil sin mícheart. I mo cheann, tá sé "And the little hand would be longed for".

    An bhfuil an ceart agam?

    Tá an ceart agat.

Tá níos mó ná míniú amháin ag an bhfrása sin. De ghná is é "gone/missing" an míniú litriúil, ach sa chás seo tá míniú meafarach air freisin.

Ó thaobh na mothúchán de, tá "longing" go láidir ag deireadh an dáin.

Missing go díreach ach sa chás seo is siocair an páiste a bheith imithie ón teach mar go bhfuil sé/sí fásta suas.
