Impreza turbo, a bit sterile due to 4wd but glued to road.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,698 ✭✭✭Hachiko

    not for 3grand

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,292 ✭✭✭Ferris

Renaultsport Clio or an rx8 with a blown engine and rebuild.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,724 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

    3 grand though, lads.
    €1500 on a 89-93 MX5 and €1500 on suspension and tuning.
You could just squeeze a turbo and coil overs at that budget, may even find one prebuilt for you.

For fun, an E200 and a lady of for the night

MR2 turbo is a great shout, good examples cost about €5000 though, you'll get a dogged one at €3000 and I wouldn't bother with an NA.

another vote here for the mr2 turbo (i'm biased though!)
Would easily get a decent rev1/2 turbo for that money.

Rev 3+ turbos are worth the extra few euro and can still be bought for less than 3k although they're pretty scarce on the market

Would love to drive an early mx5, would like to see if they're as good as everone says, i'd imagine they!

    Agreed, a Mk1 or Mk2 MX-5 is what I'd go for.

Yup, MX-5 plus substantial mods. With money to spare I reckon.

    Or more likely

    MX-5+Supercharger = Hedge backwards :pac:

Either way lots of fun for little money.

    Mmm, Jackson racing SuperCharger!
They cost a fair whack more than a turbo set up though and at that price, I'd probably lean towards ITB's and a really talented tuner.

Mr2 non-turbo. They give less trouble, by far, than the turbo, they drive beautifully and they have enough power to satisfy any driver who values their licence. Brilliant on the windy stuff. And cheap as chips.

E36 325i and weld the diff. Loooooads of fun for 1k

Fun enough but they're not going to be as fun as a GTST or even an MX5.
    Too heavy for the engine.
