I passed through the M50 toll yesterday so when I rang the number just now (23:30 hours) it said if you passed through yesterday or today press.........and I proceeded to pay my €3.10

However, I spotted then on the website it says you have to pay before 8pm the day after so which is it?

    Have I paid in time?

    Thanks

If you passed though yesterday, you had till 8pm today.

Dont know how the phone payment works, I assume they can tell what is own if late. I usally pay in a shop any time I pass through.

I'm trying to pay the fine now and it says I need a journey reference number. Do I have to wait until I get a letter to pay the fine? Is there no way to pay the fine now?

    Thanks

If you paid at 23:30 you will be grand.
They say - pay by 8pm next day, but in fact, if you pay after 8 but before morning on next working day, you will be grand.
Tried it many times and no penalties.

F.e. if you crossed M50 of Tuesday, you were meant to pay by 8pm on Wednesday, but if you pay at 4am on Thursday, you will be grand.

Also if you pass M50 of Thursday, deadline is 8pm on Friday, but if you pay Sunday evening (or Monday evening if it's Bank Holiday) you will be grand.

    Testes it myself many times.

Lads, made two trips through the M50 toll bridge on Xmas day and forgot to pay it. Should I ring them and pay now or just wait until they send the penalty notice through the post?

If you’re not registered with eFlow, or any other toll provider, use of the M50 toll road requires you to make your toll payment before 8pm the following day.

If you do not make payment by this time, an extra penalty charge of €3.00 will be incurred.

If you haven’t paid the M50 toll and the penalty within a further 14 days, an additional late penalty of €41.00 will be incurred.

    Wait for the notice.
If you were to pay now at a terminal, the payments will just be credited towards your next trip through the toll and not off the pre existing journeys which are on the system now as late charges.

Cheers Kbell. I'll just wait for it so.

Or try just ringing them up and explain the story to them. Eflow are pretty good to deal with, they will most likely drop the penalty charges and accept payment of the original toll prices over the phone.

Log on and try to pay €3 per journey as normal. If payment goes through you be grand. Few years ago before I had tag I forgot a few times. Went to shop couple days later and paid 3 quid and never heard no more.

First time it happened I tried to pay fiver in shop to cover late payment and he said he couldn't take iit as was only looking for €3.

Log on now and pay 3 quid per journey you be grand.

You'll always be able to pay for a trip, it doesn't tell you whether that payment is going against a past or future trip so you could be making a payment and still have a fine outstanding.

If you want to pay a late payment charge in a shop, you'll need the reference number for it.

Rang them up and they just charged me for the two trips and that was it.

    Sound :)

    Don't wait for the penalty.
As there was no working day since, just pay it now (today) and you will hear no more.

By waiting for penalty, you will have to pay double the price.
