So the USA has pledged $250,000,000 to the fund to rebuild Gaza.

This after arming the Israeli's, who used US arms to flatten large sections of Gaza.

So the US taxpayers are being stung for 250mill, whereas if they didn't give Israel free arms, then they wouldn't have to pay anything.

    How does this all work?

Are the Gazans meant to feel good towards the US for donating this money while they arm Israel in the meantime so that they can flatten it again once its rebuilt.

Well we are giving €2,5Million and we have nothing to do with the conflict

    http://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/middle-east/ireland-pledges-extra-2-5-million-to-gaza-reconstruction-1.1960799

But I suppose well known the world for giving to less fortunate nations because of our history with famine etc, etc. But yet most academic will tell you Aid only makes the countries have greater issues in the long term because of dependence on it, corruption. Aid is only thing that stopped Africa over throwing its dictators, like most of the middle east with the Arab Spring.

But this is Irish Aid going to a country that actually needs it

They need to get the place built up if they want to be able to sell 5 billion dollars worth of weapons the next time it's destroyed.

Our contribution would be better spent rebuilding the war torn Dolphins Barn on Dublin's southside

If theres no infrastructure to bomb. The yanks can't sell the Israeli war mongers billions of dollars of weapons!

When they're in popping up the new pre-fabs, here's betting they bang in a few gas bore-holes, just for luck like.

And it also provides a bit of a leg up to those poor Irish builders and developers who were forced into exile by the sea of negativity here at home....So roll on "Zoe Developments On Tour" or "Get your deposit down with Tom McFeely now" banners.

This is good news also, for those who engage in diplomacy, rather than getting dragged away from outside the Merican Embassy by the Gards....All we need now is for Ryanair to run their ruler over the area ?

Sure if it didn't get rebuilt what would they bomb next time?

I think they should be giving much more. Qatar are pledging $800,000,000.

The US should have to pay the majority of the aid for their role in this mess.

At a wild guess, how many native palestinian construction firms will be involved? Or will the dough go to big companies from abroad?

Hamas better not build more tunnels or fire rockets to waste our money once again by getting their terrorist sites blown up.

Ah the US taxpayer does get ridden hard. This, buying stuff for the Iraqis to lose to ISIS which the US then has to pay to blow up again, same in Afghanistan etc etc. Yet they 'can't' afford to give any sort of decent care to the same poor cnut who gets cancer after years forking over his paycheck to the IRS.

They really ought to be more pissed off tbh.

it is quite a strange country in that regard and the hero worship of its undoubtily brave soldiers fighting dubious wars

that being said if all you read can be believed there is fiddling money/gravy train/what can only be described as corruption going on in the us military supply chain than would put fianna fail to shame

They "lost" full container loads of US dollars in Iraq. Wonder will they "lose" any of the Gaza money too?

    LOL

most of the money will be siphoned off by Israel since almost all the imports come form there what with the embargo and all.

It's also means that Israel doesn't have to pay for the feeding and upkeep of what is essentially the worlds biggest prison.

Good question. Hopefully it will be spent locally and not on US contractors.

Israel has stated it will donate 50 bulldozers. Unfortunately, they'll be delivered directly on top of Palestinian homes.

Last year I went to the top of the Empire State building with my sister who lives in NY, she could point out that the twenty highest buildings in NY which are all owned by Jews. They also control Wall Street, the US Treasury and Government. The Jews run America and this is why they keep backing Israel.

The money is going to abbas not hamas who were voted in by the majority

Hamas are hardline. Abbas is the minority party which are more marginalised.

Been the same for years all going back to the oslo accord.

They back the fringe parties with money then say that they wont negotiate until they bring hamas to heel.

    Retarded.

Relax - the money will go into the pockets of super rich people running huge American para-military-security/construction type companies.
