Is there any app that change the 4G icon to LTE (without rooting preferably)? I've no practical reason for doing it just wondering if there is an app that allows it.

You certainly can't do it without root. To do it with root follows instructions like these. Some apps (that require root) can also do it. I think Rom toolbox pro can do it but I'm not sure.
