Zeiss scope reticle problem

I mounted my Zeiss Victory HT 2.5-10x50 scope 2 days ago onto my new rifle. Zeroed it in yesterday all good.

Went for a quick stalk, saw a stag but no shot so went home.

Today as I was fitting the sling I looked through the scope and I can see a little "squiggle" beside the bottom vertical hair of the reticle. First thought was just bit of thread on the lens, gave both a good wipe but its still there so I can only assume I have a dodgy reticle.





Anyone any ideas what it may be ?

I'd say it's debris caught inside the tube, they use etched reticles so it's not broken.
You could try a few shots to see if it moves it.
Either way I'd say you can return it to Zeiss to get serviced.

I agree.
I have seen specks appear inside a few zeiss and schmidt & bender scopes.
Sometimes a shot or a slap with your hand will move it and you may never see it again but you would be better off sending it back to zeiss for a service.

Shot a couple of animals since zeroing, havn't seen it on the lens since.

Have contacted Zeiss about it, will send it off once season is over. Unfortunately it looks like I will have to send it back through the dealer in Australia I bought it off !!!!

It's a Victory HT, I have emailed Zeiss to see if I can use the Irish Zeiss dealer, it would save a lot of hassle.

TriggerPL, many thanks for your offer but unless you happened to be passing through St.Albany, Victoria I may as well send it through the post if I have to go down that route.

If it's a victory ht then Lakelands should hsve no problem sending it back , it's just the conquests there an issue with
