Claiming Expenses

    Hey

I tried to claim back tax on medical expenses to the value of 650euro from 2013. I applied online (PAYE) back at the start of July, but so far have heard absolutely nothing back.

Also, I want to claim back for my tuition fees from last year but it is not clear how. I tried clicking on form 12 but it is coming up "error page".

    Any and all help appreciated.

don't know why you haven't heard back on the med expenses. usually they are quite quick. did you fully sign off on PAYE online and it went into your requests? maybe ring them on this.

to claim back on tuition fees you need to download the form, you can fill in the details on screen, print off and submit it with receipts.

the link to print off the form is about half way down under "How is Relief Claimed" section

Its a credit against paye paid. No paye paid no refund

I presume application was a request for P21 balancing statement.

Might be an idea to log-in again and check latest status .

Otherwise its back to the old-fashioned method of telephone / post .

    Hi guys,

The form12 link finally worked and I filed for my tuition fees online.

The med expenses, my fault. It has been submitted, yes, but I didn't realise I also have to fill out a med form.

    Thanks,

Odd, I was told to fill out a form for tuition fees as the revenue insists on seeing a receipt or copy of a bank statement showing the payment made
