The chronograph looks nice at first glance ...until you discover the small seconds hand. That's a bit naff, to be honest.

I'm with bedlam and my vote goes to the Stowa.

That are too different to compare IMO.

I don't like that stein at all. The Nav b 44 is much nicer.

I would choose the Stowa from those two but not really a fair choice.

I agree with 893bet, they are very different, a marine styled chrono and a flieger, so not really a comparison that can be made directly but likely will depend on what you have already or what styles you are generally in to; e.g. I have two Fliegers already so would obviously now go for the Marine. Though that compass sub-dial thing would put me off a little.

    Definitely the Stowa. Looks lovely.

Not the stowa anyway, far too common and predictable a look now

Steinhart's standard Marine is perhaps a bit closer in style?

Yeah, it would be my preference as a design; the original two are a bit flawed in a way, for me: the weird compass on the Stein and having a date window for a Fleiger with the Stowa.

    Stowa.

    I've owned 3 (currently own 2)

    Flieger Chronograph (own)

    Marine Original (own)

    Flieger (special edition - sold)

The bang-for-buck with Stowa is probably the best I've seen. Yes, there's a wait involved (if you want it new), but I feel it's worth it.

    Happy hunting!

That Steinhart chrono never did it for me.....

I'd go for the Stowa but without the date and the flieger strap

whats your budget if you dont mind me asking?

Have a look at Laco & Archimede aswell

The 2 you have are my favourites and would love to have them. I also considered trading up my flieger for the 41mm handwound which looked great

My vote's for the Stowa but I would have a no-date and it would have to be manual wind. It even has to be the right manual wind - I stupidly bought an LE hand-wind but it was the ETA 2801 and I couldn't live with it - it also didn't have blued hands.

Could you handle looking at that squigly 'S' in Stowa. If so, probably the Stowa without the date.

Now thinking about this ( moving towards the simple tell the time classy watch)

    Marine_Automatik_weiss_NL_l.jpghttp:
    https://www.stowa.de/cosmoshop/pix/a/z/marineautdatum/g/Marine_Automatik_weiss_NL_l.jpg

Budget around 500 -800. Never had a special watch so open but the choice is headwrecking

Want the date as handy to have

I don't think you can go wrong with that one; it's subtle and classy.
