I recent days I have found scratch like markings on our bathroom sink. I am at a loss to know how this has occurred. The long scratches are on the upper parts and around the rim of the sink. It's as if somebody intenionedly keyed the sink. I have ruled this completely out. It's a new house, is there any cleaning products that could cause such damage?

Are they actually cut into the surface, or just marks caused by a wedding ring or such.?
