Replacing Imperial Stopcock

Hi - I need to replace a ¾" stopcock on a waterpipe in the hotpress. I got a metric 22mm from the hardware and it fits the pipe ok but the nut which is still on the pipe (can't get it off because of the olive) is imperial and won't fit the new stopcock. Any suggestions ? Where would I get an imperial replacement? Thanks

Must be very old if it doesn't fit.

Use a junior hacksaw to cut most of the way through the olive. Flat screwdriver to split the olive. That way pipe isn't damaged and you can use new fittings.

Careful though cos there's a handy difference between 3/4 and 22mm

Thanks for that - would the pipe be compressed after I take off the olive and should I use a 3/4" olive to replace the one I cut off?

Mildly but wouldn't cause a issue. If it's 3/4 pipe it would be best to use 3/4 fittings.
