Paying for item on Ebay using Paypal balance problem

    Recently bought something on eBay and went to pay through eBay Checkout. It didnt give me any other way to pay other than through my linked Visa Debit card/bank account. I could not pay using my Paypal Balance.

    I only have something in my Paypal balance from time to time, but im very sure the last I bought something while there was something in my balance it took the money from my Paypal balance first, and if any remainder was needed it then took from my bank account.

    Can somebody help me with this?

    I'm guessing your balance was in a different currency? I've had the same happen to me in the past, and spoke to PayPal support about this; the rep recommended I convert the balance to the appropriate currency first (at their exchange rates obviously) before making the payment

    I'd email paypal about it.

    Never had a problem with paying from balance + debit card, whatever the currency.

    Thought that might be it too and changed the currencies but it is still only letting me choose my credit card. So frustrating as I cant pay for something because of it.
