Animal volunteering

I am looking to volunteer with animals (dogs, cats or preferably wildlife) and everywhere I find to volunteer is either not accessible by public transport or isn't hands on enough for me.

If anyone has any useful links/sites/information of places to hands on volunteer with animals that would be useful!

I have volunteered at the dspca but it is simply too far away for me to go once a week.

You could also try the Blue Cross, they have mobile clinics in various parts of Dublin that might be close to you.

Generally deal with habitat concervation rather than directly with animals, but they undertake a variety of projects so that might not always be the case. Probably worth an inquiry.
