Ya. There were exactly zero new audis bought since 2007.

Filling the audi void is the best euphemism I've heard in a while.

"come on down to dublin road and have your audi void filled by joe duffy"

They'll be there in their droves too!

It's going into singland motors site. I'd say frank hogan is thinking they will be a little too close for comfort..

i would imagine the singland premises will have to be enlarged / redeveloped eventually as too small, imagine frank hogan will continue to import used audis just to annoy audi after losing franchise ! its good to see the singland site being used properly , it was strange how singland were making no proper use of their decent premises and location since the recession came and they stopped selling new land rovers

Frank Hogan may have lost the Audi franchise two years ago but he did gain the Seat/Skoda franchise in addition to his already VW and Mercedes franchise. He is also still an approved Audi service centre though this could change with the new franchise opening up down the road.

Singland Motors might be a bit on the small side but it is still a decent size premises for one brand and there is plenty of undeveloped land around it for potential expansion. I'd imagine the first thing to do is establish the existing premises first and look at expansion at a later stage if necessary.

he only sold seat for short while, skoda wouldn't be as lucrative as audi , there has to be big profits made from audi for dealers to be investing so much in premises after the crash .

its strange how Mercedes , Toyota etc dealers who lose the franchise seem to be able to stay service and parts dealers for long time afterwards despite new dealer opening in area

Michael moore in portarlington lost Mercedes , is still service / parts dealer and is still advertising new mercs on net ( probably got from athlone) cant see new dealer fitzpatricks in Kildare being happy

Any Indy garage can sell you a new merc if they want ;)

A small Indy near me sells quite a few new cars of various Marques.

Any independent can sell a new car but they have to get it via an authorised dealer (often a dealer in a different county) but the end customer will never know.

I'd rather the Skoda franchise tbh, your logic is totally wrong.

Its all to do with customer service I guess.
It would be poor form to buy a new mercedes at a specific mercedes dealer today and next week them not be able to order a bulb for it. That would be a great way to destroy a brand. There is not an alternative dealer nearby in all cases.
In mayo, Tim Hastings was a long time mercedes dealer. Seems he is now no longer a sales outlet but keeps the service and parts side for now anyway. There is no mercedes dealer in the county now.

Is he going to give up his job with RTE now that he has a car dealership? Who will people ring up when they want to complain about something trivial. So many questions.....
