Heavy land farmer here, have an empty shed wondering should I stock up on some extra straw. Does the feed value go down over time? Also How much would around 50 big squares cost? Or am I just being to afraid of another bad year.

Don't think there's any feed value in straw.
Also don't think youl get straw much cheaper than this year.
Not sure how you'd calculate price as I guess your not near tillage land

Don't worry straw will last for years in a shed once its dry,i don't know how much a big square is making at the moment

Just throw an eye on donedeal and you'll get a rough idea on the price of the big bales

Barley straw around 7% protein very good to start calves off. Id would stock up if I had the shed and the cash as even if you dont use it you can sell it on at a tidy profit in the spring. Around 5 to 7 euro a bale profit to be had. 4x4 round bales here were 7 euro each.
