Hey all. Thinking of doing this on 26 Oct but am very much still at beginners stage and very slow. Wondering what the levels of fitness will be - will there be jiggers, runners and walkers ? No previous year comparisons as it's a new race.

Anyone have more info on it

    Thanks
    M

    Hi M,

There is usually a pretty wide range of abilities at races in Cork. See the recent results of a 4 mile race in Glounthaune:

Yes, agree with above, numbers tend to be very big for shorter races in Cork and levels vary hugely. Always hard to gauge with a new race, especially on a bank hol with Dublin the following day, what numbers will be like, but if you can get around 4 miles in any shape or form I'd say you'd be grand! Only one way to know anyway, give it a go! Races can be a great training run in their own right and give you a chance to push yourself. Just start near the back and go off nice and handy. You can always increase your pace in second half.
