Posting on behalf of a friend, who had their black Audi A4 S line stolen yesterday morning from Newry train station. It was spotted about lunchtime crossing the border into the Republic.

Registration is Xxxxxxx (if the plates are still on it). Will post photo once I receive one.

Please keep your eyes open in all the usual spots.

Baby seat and pram was also in the car - icandy buggy and maxi cosy seat. Perhaps they might pop up for sale somewhere?

Any pics, year and other things that would possibly make it stand out such as marks or extras.

Update: the car has just been found. In a very weird streak of luck, my friend was dropping someone off at Dublin Airport, when she saw their car in the car park of the Maldron Hotel.

I can only assume that it was parked up there until the thieves were ready to move it.

Checking for a tracker, I'd say, they were presuming it was far enough away from where it lived that it wouldn't be spotted.

Glad your friend got it back. My brother had an approx. 1 month old Focus stolen from outside his house about a month ago and hasn't see it since.

There was a BBC Watchdog about two weeks ago highlighting the ease at which these cars can be stolen without the keys through cloning using the on-board computer. Took less than 10 seconds to clone an A4 B8's key and get the car started.

Edit: Found it - skip to ~17:30 minutes
