Take the doors off dash out heater box out its not a job for a novice if your in a hurry.

Its more than likely the seals gone where the pipes join onto the rad it can be repaired without removing the rad.

Cheers. What do your mean by take doors off dash? How would your repair this and what would be involved? I'm from a fairly technical backround I'd do most jobs once I'd know what's involved, what to look out for. Thanks again.

You need to take the two front doors off to take the dash out.

You have to take the dash out to get at the heater box where the heater matrix is.

look on the drivers footwell where the two pipes join onto the matrix there are two seals there see are they leaking.

I understand you now. Good bit of work so. I'll check those pipes in the morning. Would you get misting through the heater vents if it was those pipes?

I dont think you realise just how much work it is its easily a day to a day and a half for an experianced ford tech.

Your footwell would be wet if its leaking usually.

Is your coolant level down ?? Is there air coming from your vents or is the pollen filter blocked.

Hey just got to check this out today. Yes there is a leak now in the drivers foot well. Followed it back and its coming from the joint on the pipes leading to and from the heater matrix. You were right. My mechanic told me previously it was the heater matrix. That could have been costly. Hopefully that's all it is tho there was some vapor previously when the blower was on. I'm collecting the O rings and clips to fit this tomorrow morning. This looks to be a pig of a job with limited access. Is there much play on these pipes once the bracket is removed on the engine side of the bulk head?

No i dont think so i havent done one in a long time its very awkward and can leak if the pipes and rad are not mated up properly.

    Good luck with it.
