hi,quick back round to my question, was out of work from Dec last year until Sept this year.was claiming illness benefit and employer was paying balance of my salary up untill end of Feb when this ceased and only received illness benefit untill returning to work.Informed revenue on my return to work and they returned a new tax cert to me for remainder of this year 2 weeks ago.my question is will I receive any sort of tax rebate for tax paid this year and will the amount of tax I pay for the rest of this year be reduced.thanks

You probably won't receive any tax rebate as Illness benefit is actually taxable income.
The new cert issued probably has the amt of illness benefit noted on it that you received.
You may pay less tax for the rest of the year but unlikely that you are due a refund. It realky depends on your personal circumstances - credits. levels of pay, amt of illness benefit
