I think Quick Jack has an obvious chance in the Cesarewitch but the one I fancy is Suegioo at 16's. Was hit with a big rise after his chester cup win but has held his form well since only beaten 6 lnths in the ebor and 3rd behind a good one at doncaster last month. With the favourable ew terms offered i see him as good value

    Chepstow 3:40 Southfield Theatre
    Current odds: 4/5

Hurdle ratings of the last three winners of this race: (The average is 152)
    Balder Succes 149
    Fingal Bay 153
    Cue Card 154

Hurdle ratings of the three market leaders:
    Southfield Theatre 150
Broadway Buffalo 135 (regressed from a high of 141)
    Monkey Kingdom 135

    Southfield Theatre Profile:
Runs well fresh, won a bumper and two hurdle races after a break.
Highest rated hurdler in the field. Always the type to make a decent staying chaser
By King's Theatre so the forecast Good/Soft ground is no problem.
Comfortably accounted for Broadway Buffalo at Cheltenham beating him by 7 lengths.
Trainer in good heart, in the last 14 days is 133122 (two winning favourites from five)
Possible negative for trainer is that has a 13% strike rate over fences at Chepstow (6 wins from 45 runners)

    Conculsion:

I can see Monkey Kingdom making a bold bid from the front. He is a previous course and distance winner who was only outgunned in a Grade 1 hurdle at Aintree. However three of his four wins have come with Patrick Corbett on board who has claimed either five or seven pounds and off level weights Monkey Kingdom has it all to do on hurdles form.

Broadway Buffalo is also well held on hurdles form. Whether he and Monkey Kingdom can outgun Southfield Theatre over the larger obstacles remains to be seen.

You would have to side with Southfield Theatre given the opposition and his potential to be a very capable staying chaser. He won't want the ground too dead and the forecast looks ok for the race. There are no horses running with the benefit of a recent outing and I expect his handler to have him wound up for the race. I reckon he will take all the beating, get into an early rhythm and hopefully pass Monkey Kingdom easily enough. This is all set up for a solid introduction to chasing for Southfield Theatre and hopefully all will go well for the 6yo.

    Best of luck

    Pipey.

Couple of very interesting novices tmow. Think Emerging Talent could be a very decent novice, though always wary of Nicholls this time of year with his softly softly approach.

Southfield should be part of a Nichols treble though

I seem this nearly 20lbs below one of his wins 2 years ago. 3m's though?

I fully expected Future Empire to be 6-4 in the first at newmarket so ive had a good lash at 5-2. The O'brien horse is a danger id personally be willing to take on

One bet I'm certain to go with today is soviet rock in the 2.20 at York. Up against an
Old favourite here with educate taking part at 9/1. Soviet us at 5's atm

Quite fancy Teak in the big race at Newmarket. Chris Hayes over from Ireland and is apparently starving himself to make the weight. Horse has some handy form and is well handicapped here. Reckon it should go well on the good ground and give me a very good chance at a place. 25/1 available with some bookies even doing 6 places.

Agree think 25s is a super price. Draw only negative.

Albasharah is another I fancy in the 2:40 at Newmarket at 5/1. Was supposed to go onto great things after demolishing a decent field last year in Doncaster, it has misfired several times since. However it was decent last month on a seasonal reappearance and I wonder will it go better on less firm ground today.

Nice call Francie, won it well.

Will be interesting to see if Jonjo can eek out any improvement Saddlers Rock.

Have backed Mistiroc in the 3.10, still unexposed and hopefully comes on leaps and bounds for the step up in trip.
