Choosing headset spacers on Rose Bike

recently ordered a bike from the Rose site. I took most of the default settings except for the headset spacers. The standard was 15Mm (1x5mm + 1x10), I chose, without too much thought, the max spacer available (25mm - 1x5 + 2x10).
My simple logic was easier to remove something I don't need than get something I don't have!!

However I am now wondering is that choice will have an impact on how the headset is cut/finished. If I remove one of the spacers, will I have an over long headset?

I will ask Rose (order not long gone in) but would appreciate view form experts here!!

I did the same myself. The built in spacer/top of headset or whatever you call it is 25mm tall. Spacers are added to that. It's not the end of the world but yes I'd say ask for 20 with a couple 5s or 15 if you're confident enough. When I got the bike they cut the tube to allow 25mm spacers and also put a 5mm above the stem, as you might any way. There's plenty to play with if you leave it at 20 or 15.
    Is it the xeon?

Thanks for info. Think I'll get on to them to go back to the 15.
    I've ordered a pro SL 2000.

Cool. If it's similar to the xeon (180 head tube on a 59) then you should be fine. They're not too aggressive. Great bikes

I just got the Xeon and had selected the default spacers. Now I want to raise the handlebars by adding more spacers. Actually I just want to be stretching less to the bars, so it might be I need a shorter stem instead/as well.

There is lots of information on the web about the different steerer tubes and stuff. I'm new to this and dont want to mess my new bike up. This link seems to be the most straightforward one http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/how-to-adjust-handlebar-height-38622/

I can't get my head around a part of it. In order to add more spacers presumably the exposed part of the steerer tube needs to be longer. But surely the steerer tube rests against something at the bottom so how can it be made longer?
