I'm not holding out much hope - but on the off chance someone has found a magical solution, here's my issue:

Water streams from my eyes (especially my right one) whilst cycling.

Whilst I'm wiping away my tears stopped at lights or cycling slowly through crowded areas, I feel like I should be wearing a sign explaining I'm not suffering from an awful breakup/ fit of the blues etc - it's just cycling in the wind causing the gallons of tears running down my face.

I've tried peaked caps so the peak might deflect the wind a little - no joy.
Wearing glasses makes no difference and I guess that's all I can think of.

Coming into winter I know from experience it's just going to get worse, so are there any solutions out there please?

I'm not joking, wrap arounds of some sort may solve it. There are of course more aesthetically design options.

It happens my mum at Mass, mostly because the parish clerk is too mean to turn the heat on during winter and my poor tiny ma starts to shiver tears. It looks like she's doing a dignified cry all through her prayers :p

(solution - she stopped going to mass during winter)

Swimming goggles? Just tried mine on under sunglasses and they fit - but I do look a bit wierd.

Alternatively how about moto-cross/ski type goggles? Yes you might look strange but who cares?

    I would!

Suggestions seem to be stop going to mass (easily done) and fully wrap around glasses.

Can't really imagine what other options there would be, but then that was the purpose of this thread.

What stopped the issue for me was just wearing glasses with tinted lens for some reason; also put a nose-clip (I used wear for swimming) in a pocket also in event it's really cold as the cold weather just affects my sinus to no end.

Hope you find your own solution though,

/Is their anything to be said for another mass :)

Clear your nasolacrimal duct? Or rather get a professional to do it!

I wore ski goggles in my college days for warmth and to stop this, it only seems to happen to me in the cold now, it used to happen all the time though.

Without giving medical advise... are they prone to watering outside of cycling?

I take flax seed capsules and it has greatly improved my eyes watering. It will be about 6 weeks before you see any improvement. (if they work)

They are fairly harmless and reasonably cheap

Do your eyes not water all the time, we just notice it when rate of flow in>rate of flow out?

I got my nasolacrimal duct unblocked a few times.
The last time the "professional" forgot to use anesthetic in left eye. He didn't any opportunity with right eye!

Could you ask her to go for a cycle and see what solution she comes up with?

Similar to Queensgael's mum, my mum and her sister also suffer from watery eyes. My aunty had that operation done and it made no difference.
I've wondered whether eyedrops might help, but I don't really want to be putting chemicals in my healthy eyes.

I don't have this problem until I'm cycling or walking in the wind btw.
I've tried wrap around glasses, but maybe I can get better ones - thanks all.

No, my eyes are completely fine and normal, they only water when cycling in cold weather.
I have never heard of flax seeds stopping watery eyes, will look that up.
