VW dealers selling quantum oil

    Was in vw dealers tday just looking for top up oil- Castrol edge professional 5w 30-for golf and Octavia.just needed a litre which I got for 16 eu- dear but engines do run well on it.However they were selling 5 litres of fully syntethic own brand Quantum oil which parts manager said was similar for 52 eu.Anyone else seen this?

    Yes they have been selling quantum now for a few years. It is a vw brand. It is certainly great value but some say it's not anywhere near the quality of the top branded oils.

    I done some research into it recently and although quantum is a very good oil I've been using it in my golf the edge is better. So next time I'm going to get edge for my car. Tbh you have to dig fairly deep to find any different. But it's basically the raw material which the oil is produced from edge uses a better more expensive base block than quantum. Which means the edge has slightly better lunrication qualities. But I mean we are talking very slight I wouldnt say that quantum is a bad oil or anything but if you wanted to be perticular about it edge is better.
