    Hello I'm on the rental accommodation scheme and I'm getting married in 2 months after the wedding I would like my husband to move in with,I was wondering has anybody experience wit this and how do I go about it.Im doing a ce scheme at the moment and he's on job seekers allowance

    This is probably more suited to a the forum to do with social welfare, I doubt you'll get comment here that would be as useful. You could ask a mod to move your question.

    Firstly, contact your council's housing office, and ask permission.

    They would decline if it would make the property overcrowded or if he's previously been a council tenant (any council) and it ended badly (eg he owed rent or damaged the place or had anti-social behaviour complaints) - I cannot think of any other reasons.

    If they agree, then there is a procedure to get him added to your lease - they will know the details of this, you need to be aware that it gives him some tenancy rights, I'm not sure what the timeframe for these is.

    Once he moves in, you also need to contact Welfare and get your benefits adjusted.
