Went on a 2 week holiday last week, 2 days in Belgrade, 1 day in Abu Dhabi (11 days in Sri Lanka), myself and a buddy rented a 4x4 and drove around Sri Lanka, did 1148 kilometers split between us in the end.

Looks like a Willys Jeep but its some Mitsubishi thing, bloody old, I think the engine was relatively new compared to the rest of it.

*note the Jesus Sticker on the Windscreen, I think this is the Insurance Sticker*

Rain was also a minor problem, neither stereo worked :P

    The roof leaked
    The front window leaked
There was a smell of diesel inside
The rear body cracked going over a bump and the back wheel almost fell off
The indicator stalk was on the right side and it was easy to bang it with your knee
Sometimes it got jammed in 4x4 mode, we followed Google maps and ended up in a Wildlife park complete with Elephants and stuff, do not use Google maps in Sri Lanka :D

    It was great fun :D

On the positive side you were much less worried about dinging it off something, when dropping it back there was no damage sheet to compare like hertz, we lost a rear lamp (due to the rear body cracking) that only cost us 500 rupees (3 euros)

Here's an example of when we were driving to the Hospital in Negombo (I fell in a hole the previous day and needed stitches)

Our route was something along these lines, with some detours as again, Google Maps is pretty unreliable, even the maps from the Tourist Board are unreliable :D

I must say its one of the most interesting driving experiences I've had to day, all the honking, the different types of honking, the tuk tuks, 3 - 4 people sitting on 1 moped, the complete shít heaps you see driving around the place.

Whats the most interesting country you've driven in ?

    P.S.
I'll be waiting for the high horse boardsie who says we did something that might have killed someone :P

I imagine you improved the average for driving in Sri Lanka. Driving standards there are poor, although they have actually improved quite a bit from my first visit!

Not a car so please forgive me, but,

Just returned from driving this ball of sh1t the length of Vietnam,

    10647201_10203755966253045_8673231415414292120_n.jpg?oh=876b1613e89b4cb8dc4aa9a7980956fb&oe=54ADEB26&__gda__=1420905331_9f980b8dde48683848f8e6e016341c98

Now that was interesting, in many ways, but just to focus on the driving, it was a challenge..

Had a go pro attached for the bulk of it so someday I'll dig out some of the many attempts by Vietnamese drivers/pedestrians/animals/roads-in-general at killing me, they are by far the worst drivers I've ever encountered, but in saying that I haven't been to sri lanka or india :pac:

That drive in Sri Lanka looks like a proper constant game of chicken!

For me, downhill on the french alps in a blizzard on summer tyres :pac:

Jordan. Queen Alia airport to Petra to Amman and back. All road signs, including speed limits, written in squiggly. On what you would think looks like an open national road, I bounced over a number of surprise speed ramps at 80!
