Ipad set up help

Got a new IPad, started to set it up, stuck in my email account and it now needs the following Incoming mail server Host name User name & Password & Same for outgoing mail server. Haven't a clue what these are? Also how do I transfer my phone contacts from a non Apple phone? Any help gratefully received.

What type of account have you got? i.e. hotmail, gmail etc
